Hill Valley hasn't seen an unlawful killing in its entire history, until sixteen-year-old Irwin Broster is found brutally murdered in Layton woods. The police are at a loss as to find any motive, or any evidence that might point them toward a suspect. Detective Elaine Brackett leads the investigation and she is at a loss as to what her next move should be. She calls upon her old mentor, retired detective Raymond Whistler to try and shed some light on the mystery. But things escalate when another body is found and the detectives are led to the door of Patrick Taylor who is soon on a collision course with the mysterious killer.
