BRIAN O'GORMAN

Brian O'Gorman was born in Ormskirk, Lancashire in 1974. He published his first novel Pharmacon in 2014 after years of writing unpublished short stories. He normally writes in the horror genre but has turned his hand to contemporary fiction with The Final Wish of Maggie Bosworth and The Roland Sink Hour. He is most famously known for his novel Dawn of the Spiders and the sequel Day of the Spiders which have entertained and appalled readers all across the globe.
His inspirations come from 1950's monster films and from waking nightmares which feature heavily in the short story collection Stickychuck. He followed the success of the Spiders novels with a zombie origins story, The Water and a science fiction murder mystery The Outcast. The Second Coming and the final part of the Spiders trilogy, Night of the Spiders are due for release in 2021

Brian suffers from bipolar disorder and was symptomatic for twenty years before finally being diagnosed and put on a course of medication. These days his relapses have slowed sufficiently so that he can lead "as normal a life as I possibly can." He has spoken openly about the condition and the effects of poor mental health and about the ways that sufferers can help themselves to minimise the symptoms.

He currently resides in Stockport, England where he continues to write on an (almost) daily basis and drink far too much tea.
